Europe
is the most western peninsula of the Eurasian continent, and
as such has plenty of expansive coastlines. Each country has
developed its maritime traditions over the centuries and for
over a thousand years discoverers and conquerors sailed from
the coasts of Europe.
These traditions are revived each year with sailing and port festivals, amongst which we select and present you with some of the most interesting.
In Hamburg every year the harbour's birthday is a tribute to traditional navigation; in St. Tropez you can mingle with rich yacht owners; and in Great Britain "Skandia Cowes Week" lures with its enormous yacht speedboats. Succumb to the charm of the tall ships and enjoy dreaming of far away lands and the furthest expanses of this great world!
