In
the last few decades, under the influence of the comic and
cartoon industry, a new art of entertainment has asserted
itself in Europe - that of a permanent event situated in a
place built around a specific theme.
Walt Disney was the first, with its giant area in the east of Paris, followed by the ‘Asterix’ park and the various film studio attractions, and today there are hundreds such entertainment parks spread out across Europe.
The role of this guide is not to list all of these places individually - there are specialised guides which fulfil this role; we will highlight the biggest and most notable examples, and those that we think are particularly interesting.
A case in point is that of the intergalactic "Space Centre Bremen" in Germany, or the highly reccommended park "Astrid Lindgrens Vaerld" in Sweden, the charming "De Efteling" in the Netherlands or the traditional "Tivoli" in Denmark.
