"Transcendence"
means " to go beyond of the borders of this side".
In his work "The Holy", published in 1917, the theologian
Rudolf Otto focused upon the "irrational" elements
of the religious experience, "the holy" in contrast
to the "earthly", which allows a non-practising
Christian to observe the religious celebrations as a form
of spiritual participation.
